Claims Investigator

Claims Investigator role involves evaluating all types of injury claims. You will spend your time establishing where the fault lies in employers’ liability, public liability and motor liability.

You will spend the majority of your time investigating accidents Employers, Public and Motor with our policyholder’s providing decision on legal liability.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives. You will provide quality investigation reports to our claims handlers and Defence Solicitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The provision of the most effective and efficient investigation, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
  • Undertaking audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers to ensure quality service
  • Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority to preferred clients
  • Undertaking claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients
  • Providing precautionary and post-event advice and guidance to preferred Intact Insurance customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
  • The profitable maintenance of account through the provision of technical expertise for claims in order to meet the business objectives/ targets.
  • Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.

Requirements:

  • APA/CIP Qualification
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar or relevant role
  • Full Clean Drivers Licence as company car will be provided
  • Overnight stays may be necessary
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly excel.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Subject to Fitness & Probity Standards issued under Section 50 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and any subsequent amendments.  The role holder must ensure they are fully aware of the Standards and be in a position to fully comply with them at all time.
  • This role falls within the scope of the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) therefore the role requires the jobholder to have attained the status of ‘Qualified Person’ in the relevant functions. .  The jobholder must also comply with all CPD requirements as outlined in the MCC.
  • Qualification in Health & Safety, Legal Studies, etc. may be beneficial but not essential.
