Specialist & Complex Claims Team - Property Claims Specialist

Excellent new opportunity to join our Specialist & Complex Claims team in Dublin. We are looking to hire an experienced Property Claims Specialist to handle large, complex or specialist cases using agreed claims processes to achieve settlement outcomes in line with business strategy and goals, regulatory and corporate policies and customer propositions.

You will spend most of your time handling a portfolio of large Household, Commercial, Engineering and Construction claims, liaising as appropriate with customers, internal colleagues and service providers. You will also work to agreed personal performance objectives and targets.

Whilst you will be mainly desk based, there will be an element of field work required, including direct loss adjusting of claims when appropriate and as business needs dictate. You will be dealing with customers, service providers and third parties on a one to one basis. In addition to working with other colleagues as part of a team, you will help assist with the technical capability development of less experienced colleagues.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support the delivery of business objectives.

You will support the management of RSA panel suppliers, including periodic audit of Loss Adjuster files.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of property claims within a delegated Claims Licence threshold, including Household, Commercial, Engineering and Construction.
  • Managing a portfolio of first party fraud cases; liaising as appropriate with our internal Special Investigations Unit and external service providers.
  • Direct Loss Adjusting of a portfolio of first party Household and Commercial claims, as business needs dictate.
  • Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Helping and contributing to the technical development of less experienced colleagues to raise standards and expertise across the Claims function.
  • Assisting with the periodic audit of panel Loss Adjusters, ensuring that they are efficiently handling cases allocated to them and progressing them at pace to cost effective settlement.
  • Working closely with managers within the Claims function to efficiently implement change and strategy to deliver agreed business benefits.
  • Delivery of relevant Claims Savings Initiatives (CSIs).


 

Requirements:

  • CIP qualified required
  • Qualification in Loss Adjusting, Building Surveying, Engineering, Legal Studies, etc. would be beneficial but not essential
  • 7+ years relevant Loss Adjusting / Claims Handling experience required
  • Experience of dealing with brokers and a wide variety of customers
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • A full Driving License is required
  • Overnight stays may be necessary
  • The role is hybrid, based from our Dublin office

  • If this role is defined as a "controlled function" by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that you meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness & Probity standards issued in this Act.
