Head of Financial Operations
This is a senior leadership role in RSA Ireland that reports directly to the RSA Ireland CFO. On occasion, the successful candidate will be required to deputies for the CFO making this an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate looking to progress his or her career to the next level.
You will lead, motivate, and develop people and teams across IFRS17, Procurement, Facilities and Credit Control. You will operate as a senior leader in the Finance & Actuarial Function and across the RSA Ireland business as a whole and will be a positive ambassador for our Leadership Behaviours. You will ensure delivery of the IFRS17 Project and 52-109 compliance in line with agreed timelines working closely with the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and Head of FCF.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Group and Regulatory outsourcing requirements. You will have a thorough understanding of the industry and our market context, as well as RSA’s global and regional business strategy and priorities.
You will add value through a combination of technical expertise and your ability to develop and implement creative solutions and ideas, underpinned by sound commercial judgement. You will be a seasoned Finance professional with strong previous people management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading, motivating and developing senior people and teams across Finance areas:
- Delivery of the IFRS17 project in line with Group and Regulatory requirements.
- Manage local steering groups and report into Regional Steering group.
- Ensure that RSAII meets its deadlines within the Regional IFRS17 project and that the Regional project delivers as required to RSAII.
- Review of group policies and ensuring that RSAII is in position to comply.
- Work closely with Actuarial Function to develop best reporting
- Solutions for IFRS17
- Work closely with Financial Reporting and Control providing technical guidance and defining process documents for compliance. Support transition from FRS to IFRS17 in BAU and development of IFRS17 statements and annual reports.
- Development of IFRS17 to SII reconciliation.
- Manage the team to ensure that the company complies with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements within Procurement and Facilities.
- Ensuring that the Company is compliant with 52-109 in line with agreed timescales
- Manage credit control team ensuring that unallocated cash and debtors remain within agree tolerances.
Requirements:
- 5 years plus Senior leadership experience
- Qualified accounting professional ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Experience of working in a multi-national environment
- Proven ability to identify and quantify business opportunities and/ or performance issues based on understanding of financial information
- Proven ability to manage people
- Proven ability to inform and drive delivery of projects and improved business performance
